The Tehama County Library hopes to provide new technological experiences to our patrons. 3D printing is one of many services we plan on providing to the public in the future.
What is 3D printing?
It is the process of making a physical object from a three-dimensional digital model, usually by laying many thin layers of material in succession.
How much does it cost?
Unfortunately, the library does not have in its budget to cover the cost of filament (which is quite expensive). As a result, we will not be able to accommodate individual print jobs.
What can be printed?
All printing is done with PLA, a bioplastic made of corn, really the only limit is your imagination.
Who can operate the printer?
Only Library staff and trained volunteers will have hands-on access to the 3D printers.
*The Tehama County Library cannot guarantee the outcome or the quality of the object you are trying to print.
